A Special Evening with His Excellency Mr. JULIO GARMENDIA PEÑA Cuban Ambassador to Canada and author STEPHEN KIMBER

Some actions have been organized in favor of the release of the Five, in Vancouver Canada, by Free the Five Committee Vancouver with the support of the Embassy of Cuba. These actions will take place in 5 cities of the province of British Columbia during the next five days. On the night of the 6th, after celebrating successfully the picket No. 100 in Vancouver and demonstrations in other cities, a busy evening took place at a community center in the city. Professor Stephen Kimber presented his book ” What lies across the water: The Real Story of the Cuban Five” which aroused the interest of the audience while it removes the thin fabric of lies around the case of the five Cuban Heroes who went to Miami to fight terrorism .
Don Foreman, representative of Union of Postal Workers highlighted the commitment of his Union with the cause of the Five and the actions they perform in this regard. Later, Foreman gave a present to the Committee of Five of Vancouver, present assembled by friend Bill Ryan who chairs the Committee for the Freedom of the Five of Ottawa . Ryan manufactures maple bats with the insignia of the Five for industrial equipment on behalf of Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo .

Speaking during the evening, Ambassador of Cuba conveyed the appreciation of all our people to our Canadian friends for their participation in the struggle for the liberation of our compatriots and for the spread of their truth in this land.

He stressed that we must step up the struggle to get to the day when Toni, Ramón and Gerardo also could walk free by the streets of our island, next to their families and friends.
