The demonstration will demand justice for the five Cuban intelligence agents wrongly incarcerated in the USA simply for trying to prevent acts of terrorism from violent anti-revolutionary groups based in Florida.
During over 15 years of the unjust sentences and jailing of the five Cubans a campaign for their release has grown world wide, and includes a number of Nobel prize winners, politicians, and well-known personalities.

SAN FRANSISCO, CALIFORNIA – U.S.A
Protest Action to Free the Cuban 5!
March 5 2020
5pm
Mission & 24th
San Francisco, CA
U.S.A
Hugo Chávez (pictured here with Ricardo Alarcón and National Committee coordinator Gloria La Riva) was a big supporter of the Cuban Five. March 5 is the 1-year anniversary of his death, the 100th monthly picket action for the Five in Vancouver, BC (https://www.facebook.com/100PicketsForCuban5), and will also be just over a week after Fernando González is released from prison.
To honor the heroic revolutionary leader Hugo Chávez, to honor the monumental achievement of the Free the Cuban Five Committee – Vancouver, and to celebrate Fernando’s release (if the U.S. government will allow him to return to Cuba) or protest the U.S. government’s action (if Fernando is required to spend a “probationary” period in the U.S. like René was), the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five will be holding an action in San Francisco (24th & Mission) at 5:00 pm on March 5. If your group is planning a similar action, either on the 5th or near the 5th, please put the information and links in the comments so we can help spread the word.
Incidentally, if you want to get your own shirt like the one Hugo Chávez is wearing, they’re available (and now in full color!): http://www.freethefive.org/store.htm#tshirt
