Braving cold temperatures and inclement weather, several dozens of friends of Cuba and Cubans living in this city, gathered, this March 5th, in front of the Consulate General of the United States to demand the immediate release of Gerardo, Ramón and Antonio, Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly serving in U.S. jails.
This mobilization is part of the support the group called “Friends of the Five in Toronto”, wanted to give to the international battle for the liberation of the Cuban heroes and the conclusion of the 100th picket action in front of the U.S. Consulate in Vancouver organized by the Free the Cuban 5 Committee in this western Canadian city.
The Toronto demonstration was attended by members of the organizations: CCFA – Toronto, Toronto Forum on Cuba, the Communist Party of Canada, the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto, “Juan Gualberto Gómez”, Worker to Worker and the Latin American Solidarity Network, among other groups friends of Cuba.
Very early that morning, at several central points of the city, pamphlets with texts demanding the immediate release of our compatriots and describing the illegal nature of the process were distributed.
